I got all my memory directly from Crucial Memory, a fraction of the price and I never had any problems (upgraded Powerbooks and a G5)

QUOTE (Milca @ May 29 2005, 06:06) I’m planning to get 3 gig of RAM total.I’m not sure if this is not too much.I’ve been advised that 1,5 – 2 Ghz should be enough and also on the other hand that there is never enough RAM ? Thanks to OS X memory management, there can never be too much RAM. The more RAM you have, the faster your machine runs when you're running a lot of apps. This is because OS X uses RAM as cache instead of slower hard disk. The maximun RAM amount for Dual 2.7 is 8 GB. Apple does not manufacture it's own RAM so it makes sense to buy it from somewhere else. Installing RAM is very simple and you will save a lot of money if you buy it from your local cheap PC store. Kingston RAMs have a very good and reliable reputation amongst Mac users, and Kingston RAMs also have a lifetime warranty. Almost any computer store will order these RAMs for you as long as you tell them the exact RAM chip model you need. QUOTE should go with apple’s RAM(1 gig – 250 $ For example Kingston's KTA-G5400/1G costs 132$ at eBuyer.com

ramjet was reasonable and although the first module they sent me was bad, they apologized and sent me another that worked fine, no questions asked. datamem.com is also used by a friend of mine who fixes macs. supposedly it is cheap and mac friendly (and local for the New England area)
