Hi, everyone. I apologize because I am 100% certain that you have been asked this a zillion times, but my search forum search yeiled no results and I've been at this for 5 hours.... HELP!!!

I just got a Tascam DP-01FX. Before this, I had been recording on a "walkman" type cassette playe (only cheaper than a walkman) unsure.gif so I know pretty much nothing.

I recorded & mastered a song on the tascam, backed it up to my mac (the iMac G4) and now there is is on my desk top, and I have NO idea how to open it. It has a .001 extension. What do I need now?

Thanks so much!

-Laura

.001 certainly is not a valid file extension for any audio file format, the file is probably in some specific "Tascam exclusive" -format and is only meant to be read by your Tascam.

However, Tascam DP-01FX has a "USB output for computer backup, exports .wav files as individual tracks for editing on any software or stereo mix for burning to a CD", so what you need to do is export your track as a .wav file, not as a backup.

Hope this helps.
