Hey everyone,
I am in the market to get a new mac for my recording setup, and am currently using a delta 1010 interface. My question is whether or not I can use that particular interface with the new imac g5? I dont know much about macs (pc user) but at first glance it doesn't appear to me that you can apply any add-ons to the system. If there is anyone that has the answer to this question, some info would be greatly appreciated.

So to be able to use my delta 1010 would I have to get a power mac g5 tower? Let me know if that would even work... I dont want to go back to a PC, nor do I want to buy a new interface at the moment.

I own a dual 1.8 g5 now but had a pc with a delta 66 before. I called repeatedly to m-audio about the pci issue. The response I finally got was that M-Audio was not prepared to convert any cards to PCI 2.2 compliant cards. Why? In the midst of development for the g5 a few years back apple changed the architecture between the 1.6 ghz g5 and the 1.8 ghz and above models. They are currently working on a workaround but are months from accomplishing their goal. They want to blame apple for changing their architecture in the middle of m-audio's devlopment but not publicly. The enginneer i spoke with said the only PCI card that is compliant is the revolution card. So your options are to buy on older 1.6 ghz g5 or find another PCI g5 compatible card. It is very misleading for m-audio to advertise that you can upgrade when an upgrade is not even ready. for a project studio this is a major annoyance. M-Audio should have been making PCI 2.2. compliant cards years ago. I'm moving to the Echo Layla 3G PCI with breakout box. good luck.

does your pci card have one or two notches on the socket? mine physically would not fit (one notch card, two notch sockets) one notch = pci 5V old standard two notches= pci 3.3V v.2.2 standard
