First i would like to say that i have helped numerous people on this site, but have for some reason not collected any points or whatever that is described in the agreement and rules.
I am kinda upset that I have asked a legitmate question, and have not gotten a response. I guess i have to ask questions like: how do i plug a mic cable into a midi jack or something. Or if i buy a computer can i record music. I mean come on...
All i want to know is this------is anyone using logic 7 and does an offline bounce with a system performance meter open only see one processor maxed out. shouldn't it use both processors?

thanks for any help that comes about. i know it is a real hard question.

Hello,
Don't fret-there are people who read the forums who know a thing or two. As far as your offline question-are you not able to do an offline bounce (disk too slo-system overload, bla, bla.?). In offline mode as far as I've noticed over the few years it's been available, much os the screen refresh features are disabled-so I would not pay much attention to the system performance meters. If the problem is that you are running out of CPU power then say so, otherwise it may very well be that both are utilized but just don't show on the meters. There was an old trick with Logic 5 to throw some tasks over to the second CPU, but I don't know if that applies anymore from Log 6 on.

Greeting editbrain,

And much respect - I've seen your answers and help over the time I've been with MacMusic and I (probably like a lot of others) assume that we can't be much help to editbrain who is a 'senior member' cool.gif

Anyway - I recall seeing a post about 6 months ago about Logic not using both processors by default. The answer to the post was a trick in the environment window to set up something that used both processors. No - I can't remember what it was sad.gif and it may not have been here - it may have been in a Logic forum or even on the Apple knowledge base.

Ah - if I only had a memory - now where was I?

Basically editbrain - this is a know problem - and the fix has already been published... er... somewhere.

I've only just upgraded to LogicPro 7 and haven't done any bouncing yet. I guess this is a reply - but not an answer.

Good luck - and thanks for all the help you've given all of us in the past. smile.gif

Thanks guys.

The system works fine. I am not getting any hangs during bounce. i was just wondering why the meter showed only one processor maxed.
During tracking in a session I see both processors working fine. I guess this was more of a interest question.
I apologize for the rant. I just have had some really crazy dealings with a couple partners lately, and i guess i picked the wrong time to post.
I was curious as to why I haven't received any points though from the moderators. When I look at my profile all i see is status going up not activity points. I thought I way there were a couple ways to becoming an active member. paying, and participation. i will have to email lep on that.

thanks for the replies. will send an email to apple whatever good that will do.

happy recording,
