I'm using DP4 now and I checked the Logic and it's not bad.
What's the different beetwen Logic and DP? What do you think about to change? |

..hi!
I find Dp.. a little too Japanese..(tsc tsc!).. meaning..too detailed which takes the intuition a little away of the gig... I have always liked Logic more than the competition.. even pro tools. I made the switch from DP to Logic about 8 months ago and haven't regretted it once. For me, it was easy to make the conversion and I haven't had much trouble getting used to the way logic works. I still miss DP's multiple takes on one track, but I am learning to deal with that.But, any issues I have come across do not even come close to the joy I feel using Logic and all its plugs.

If you're happy with DP… Why change?
  Now, Logic has a steep learning curve, but some MIDI stuff not possible elsewhere (the Environnement power within). PT is hardware dependant (you MUST buy and use some Digidesign hardware to use their software, and there are annoying things with that), but it's maybe the easiest/more practical Audio Toolbox to work in audio. The MIDI side is more rustic than in DP and Logic, but it's enough for some. There's also the plug-in questions, but I'm lazy on this, can someone answer on these issues and the way to workaround? please? (sorry, very tired and sick) (and please, no multiple posts

he means that in pro tools you are stuck with RTAS plug-ins. no support for AU or VST.
RTAS cost more. you can get a VST to RTAS wrapper that makes pro tools think that the VST is an RTAS plug-in. Logic only supports AU, but now days AU is as common as VST. So no real problem there. (how come i feel like i just opened a can of worms?) editbrain. |
