Im a fun of the musicals, recently I`ve seen three of the top show in the west end( London) Lion King and Bombay dreams..in the interval, i snatched a little time to have a look to the musicians located underneath of the stage, i expected to see a full orchestra like it sounds during the show play..the strings, brass section. i`m a keyboards player and i can defferenciate between the real instrumens and the sound bank in the latest range of keys, but what i saw, in all these show, all the band is about a guitare bass player, percussionists, an electric drums player, and keys player, the main instruments used are Kurzweil...I got asotnished, how come all that sound and music made from these few instruments, there is no sequences, becouse of synchronising with the choreography...any answer, would be appreciated.

thanx all. younes_uk

Most probably pre recorded music on CD or dat. The band would still play occasionally by them selfs or maybe along with the CD tracks.
