Hi can anyone give me any advice on how i could convert the songs that i have in my roland fantom-s , into wav or mp3 , i have tryed a couple of midi converters including itunes , But it seems that the files that i import from my keyboard are not midi format according to the fantom s manuals they are (svq)(mrc pro songs). Has anyone heard of this format and how can i convert it please any relevant info would be greatly appreciated .
thank you

I ncase your Roland Phantom-S is a synth with built in sequenser.
It's likely that your songs simply are midi-info.
Stored internally in your Roland prom/eprom memory.

Usually it's possible to store this song info together the sound data
(i.e. info about what patches & sounds you have been using while creating your songs on the Roland)

(midi-info however can NOT be converted into digtal audio)

This midi-info can usually also be stored onto some external device - such as floppy disc, zip-drive, flash-card scsi-harddrive -
depending

You'll have to record the audio signal - from the Roland left-&-right audio outs - into some recording device, your computer or tape deck or whatever.

Cheers Dixiechicken

Addendum - it should be possible to export/convert your Roland propriety song format as common midi-files.
( on your Roland synth )

If not - another possible route is to hook up Roland synt to another midi-synt and try to record this info through a
"Midi System Exclusive dump".

This second option requires a thorough reading up on the manuals of both synths. ( offhand I wouldnt recommend this route )

Cheers: Dixiechicken

Maybe the articles below will be of help to you. Read them over and again if needed.

The Fantom S manual should explain all, but if not, do a few searches regarding the Fantom S's midi/audio capabilties.

Good luck to ya!

Here's the dope site for all Fantom-S/X issues:

http://fantomized.info/

This is an amazing users group, with more info for the line than I've seen for any synth out there.

BTW, from your description, I'd agree with Dixiechicken's analysis...

Cheers,
Joe
