I just switched from cubase sx 2 to Logic 7 Express. My question is: Where are all my third party vst plugin effekts and instruments? They are all located in the Libary/Audio/Plugind/Vst. Cubase see them fine... But Logic does find any of them. Im new to Logic. I cant find them with the other effekts atleast. Thanks in advance.

sorry, logic uses Audiounits only. I agree that this is a little silly. It should do VST too. If you have invested money in VSTs, you can get the VST to AU adapter from, ahhh... that company..gotta run, but i dont remember...

oh right

My understanding is that Logic Express cannot import third part VSTi or audio units. You can use only what Apple supplies you with. I may be wrong but if you go to Apple's Logic site and look at the feature comparison page, Logic Express cannot use external instruments.

I have used amplitube au in logic express 6, I don`t see why this shoulden`t work in version 7. And if amplitube works, why not everything else too?

You can use external instruments and AU plugs in Logic Express7, it just lacks the external instrument plugin, that allows you to treat external instruments like the virtual ones.

Working fine for me so far.
