I downloaded an 8-track recorder from Tonos (http://www.tonos.com/app2/tonos/jsp/help-jsp#tc8) I am trying to record live music onto my ibook, which has no mic inputs . I bought an interface , Edirol UA-3, which has inputs for analog sound. The problem I am having is that every time I try to use Tonos, I get a message that I don't have sound drivers for the program. Can anybody suggest a solution? Also, does anyone have experience with Tonos? Many thanks! Remulak

this is interesting! bear with me here, i just downloaded tonos and was impressed that emagic are the providers, they have great credentials and would in my experience, have their end covered. your interface is provided by roland, who also have a great reputation. this has to be a software compatibility problem that i can't help feeling will be fixed pretty soon, just a case of early days 'syndrome' you don't mention which os version you're using, it's gonna have to be up to date. the interface will provide the mic inputs but to clarify, all mac os versions do provide for mic input, if only in a basic way. you are gonna have to have drivers that are compatible with your os and the soft/hardware you're using. it seems to me that edirol/roland are the problem here! apple's sound manager is the central compatibility issue, it worries me that you say your powerbook has no mic input facility, i'm not familiar with such a situation with any mac. i will investigate and talk to you soon!
