Yes, yet another new mac/ logic user in terrible need of assistance.
Basically running Logic Express 6 on a G3 iBook, 800MHz, 256 Ram, OSX 2, M Audio Mobile Pre USB Core Audio Interface, Evolution MK 425 C USB Keyboard.
I want to solely use it for audio (recorded parts and samples) and Audio Instruments.
Now I installed it last night followed the installation manual to the letter. The problems are: When I insert an Audio Instrument (that is authorized) on an Audio Instrument track I cannot get any sound out of it. MIDI is being received by Logic and it recognizes that both the keyboard and the audio interface are present. MACOS recognizes they are there too and even gives me nice pictures of them. The Audio Interface works with iTunes and other system stuff but seemingly not with Logic. I haven't tried recording any audio into it yet. Also on the GM MIDI Tracks and Audio Instrument tracks in the arrange window there is no little R (for record) next to them. What's going on. Please help. Emagic have been very helpful so far but I wondered if any of you pros knew what might be going on. Cheers

Replying to my own ad.
Don't know what I did last night other than follow through some of Len Sasso's setting up logic stuff in his hints and tricks book and it all seems to work just fine. Also I presume that I don't need a little R next to the Audio Instrument tracks because I can still record to them and I presume the little R on the Arrange page tracks is just to monitor audio entering the application and as the Audio Instruments are already listenable(!?) this function is not required.
So cheers but I sorted it myself! Which I personally was very suprised at. The worrying thing is I'm not sure why it now works and didn't at first. But that is my experience with Macs (been editing for broadcast on FCP 4 since April and this doesn't work/ does work at various points in a working day (apparently an application bug problem with FCP 4).
Right, I'm rambling. But for any new users out there get Len Sasso's Logic Hints and Tricks book (try Amazon). Better than Logic's own Getting Started Manual, in my opinion.
