I'm looking to convert MP3s and WAV files to MIDI format, and then to convert the MIDI onto sheet music. Does anyone know of any cheap but reliable software that I can download for Macs? I'm hoping I can find a free simple converter software to download but I don't know of any. I just need to be able to have scores of songs quickly without having to recreate them myself completely using a notation software. I searched on the Web but most were only for Windows.

I haven't tried it myself but you may be able to do this with Sibelius. However, you can't download it and it ain't cheap.

I'm surprised that there is no software that can take a very simple midi file and convert it to sheet music. Well then do you know of any cheap or free software where I can just play on my MIDI keyboard that would transfer to a score? I don't want to spend too much to buy like Sibelius or Finale but I'm basically trying to make my life easier to transfer simple songs onto a score. I have a whole bunch of songs that are not available in a score that I have to arrange for my a cappella group and it's so time consuming to add vocal percussion parts, and five other vocal parts from a 5 minute song onto a score... Anyone have any easier recommendation than typing parts note by note?

As far as MIDI to score, there's nothing to rival Sibelius IMHO, although you may find you have to do some 'tidying up'. It's the MP3 to midi aspect that you won't manage.

Although you could try Melody Assistant (from myraid software) - not free, but affordable! But it won't do the mp3 bit ......
