I am trying to replace the light MIDI synth used by QuickTime with another soundfont. I have already done this on OS X, but I can't figure out how to do this on OS 9. Does anybody know what to do?
Thanks |

You can't. It's all hard-coded in QUickTime on OS9.
The only reason it works in OSX is because the QT synthetizer uses the AUMudicDevice audio unit synthetizer. -------------------- |

Quicktime 5 and later can load and use soundfonts.
Put the soundfont files (.sf2) into the Extensions "Quicktime Extensions" "Sound Banks" folder and then open the "Quicktime Settings" control panel and choose the music item and the soundfont files should appear in a list that you can select from along with the regular Quicktime synth . |

QUOTE (mididude @ Jun 28 2004, 21:41) Quicktime 5 and later can load and use soundfonts. Put the soundfont files (.sf2)Â into the Extensions "Quicktime Extensions" "Sound Banks" folder. There is no such a folder in OS 9. I've never seen one. Ce message a été modifié par azusa - jeu. 15 juil. 2004, 09:16. |

You probably need to make the "Sound Banks" folder from within the "QuickTime Extensions" folder first and then put the soundfont files into the newly created "Sound Banks" folder.
The folder that Quicktime scans for soundfont files is System Extensions "QuickTime Extensions" "Sound Banks". Try it and see. |
