You go buy an mBox or 002 and your PT Free turns into PT LE.

Yea, add money. Nothing is free, one might say, but Pro tools free is! A company that puts out usable free software should be praised. If you like the software, I'd advise supporting the company and buying the better version.. Mbox... good package...

Is plugging a USB cable in such hard work?? There is no way to get around the COPY PROTECTION of using the hardware interface. Get over it. If you already have the mBox then you've got nothing to worry about but if you haven't then stop complaining and go use something that doesn't require a hardware interface.
Pro Tools is NOT the be all and end all solution to music making, in fact in some areas it barely scratches the surface. If you look into some other applications then you may be pleasantly surprised. Some don't even impose a track limit!! If you need 32 tracks BUY an MBox, USE an MBox or CHOOSE another system. End of story! bottom line! Game over! |

Basically to answer what i think u were asking... 'seeing u have bought the mBox can PT Free be turned into LE to give you more tracks...' the answer is no. PT Free was designed not to be used with PT Hardware. It's kinda like a neverending evaluation.

If you want more tracks what you could do is bounce down the audio of what you have finished editing on into aiff files - and then that would considerably free up quite a few tracks.

after a bit of investigation it seems we are both right...
I'm running an MBox with PTLE 5.2.1 on OS9.2 and I'm limited to 24 tracks. (there is an update to run 32 but only on the digi systems, not the MBox) However the 6.1 version (and the 5.3.3 windows) will play back 32 tracks. bjkiwi Ce message a été modifié par bjkiwi - mer. 7 avril 2004, 01:29. |
