WOW... that is a pretty general question. Maybe if you include some info on what it is that you are having trouble with exactly... you may get more replies with possible help. Also, are you sure you are talking about Midiman? Sure it isn't M-Audio Quattro?

After a few days trying to figure out how to get the M-Audio Quattro to work....just an hour ago, finally....it works.

Well... I'm using a G4 733 mhz and got it to work on OS 9.2. I have a Roland RS-5 and a Roland MC-303 Groovebox hooked up.

I was about to give up because I couldn't get it to work and Midiman has now gotten my vote for #1 company with tech support that never responds to e-mail.

At first with the OMS, I kept getting the piano screen with the questionmark and then nada. This time I deleted everything and started from scratch and noticed that this time the 'Audiosport Quattro' actually showed up in the OMS and changed the digit to '1' instead of 0 and did a test audio and got the 'midi received'.

Fortunately, since I'm new to using a MAC, I have the Cakewalk Metro 5 software which came from the Midiman controller.

So, I guess I won't give up on the Quattro just yet.

I'm running Cubasis 2.0 on an iBook 256MB with the Quattro. It has been a pain to set-up, but it is working fine now. It may help to re-load all of your music software. The order I followed was Cubasis, Spark, OMS, Quattro. It may help to remove any USB drivers not needed by your music software.

Sometimes, at the beginning of a session, the iBook won't physically find Quattro. When this happens it helps to shut down the iBook completely. Unplugging the USB cable or simply re-starting usually doesn't do it.

Once inside Cubasis I go to OMS, and then Test Studio. This seems to turn OMS on, and MIDI will work fine. Weird, huh? Oh! I'm using the old Quattro drivers, not the brand new ones (1.0.5?). Strange things happened when I used the new drivers.

I hope this helps. This forum has been a great help to me.

Hello - what a great resource this is........

I have tried 3 different drivers on 2 different macs now. i see the drivers in the extension folder and they are turned on. i get the same problem everytime, when i power up with the quattro it tells me that 'the appropriate software to run the quattro could not be found and if i would like to look for it online' when i run oms it cannot find it either.

Thanks for the help

im on the new g3 ibook w/os 9.1

Quattro just released a new driver on November 6th. I'm using it now. I ran Norton Disk Doctor and screwed my entire system up. Once you get your system running, back-up it up. Try to dedicate your iBook to music only, if you can. I can't.

Try to re-load all your music software in the proper order. My order was this:Cubabsis, Spark le, OMS, Quattro. I use Metro 4.5.2 on my old 8500, too.

Try to power down completely. Turn on the Quattro. Plug in the USB and don't run any other USB devices. Turn on the iBook.

Start small and build your system up, piece by piece. For example, I loaded Cubasis, turned on the control panel and enabled the built in mic and recorded some audio. When that checked out okay I moved on to loading OMS (but not running Studio Set-up) and loading the Quattro drivers. Then I set-up Cubasis to run Quattro and it's ASIO driver. Launch Quattro and keep it simple as well: enable 1 & 2 input and 1 & 2 output; 16bit 44khz; set the latency to 'very high'. Record some audio. When that works, delete Quattro completely and load OMS. Then re-load Quattro. Run the OMS Studio Set-Up. Enable MIDI within your music software. This will let you see where your problems are coming from. I suspect OMS is causing some problems that the makers of Quattro need to address.

The power of computers comes at a price. Complexity! It does take time to tweak your system. Good luck and try not to get frustrated.
