Hello and thank you for reading.

I am currently trying to compare the different sequencing software available.

I am not computer illiterate; I love my G4 dual 1.25. I use to play in a band 7 years ago, we integrated electronics into our music, but it was still very low-fi. After stopping that I sold out and went to Art School, now I do motion graphics.

So basically I am interested in textural anomalies, controlled accidents and sub frequencies.

I cannot get a clear answer about which program Cubase, digital performer or logic, Is most user friendly for a more experimental, picture oriented Mac user.

What are the pros and con’s of the above-mentioned sequencing software

I really like reaktor’s anysound is possible (if you have the time) approach, so I’m most likely going to get that as well as reason.

Any direction would be great

Thanks
chad

Have you looked at Live ($300)?
www.abelton.com

Have you played with Reason ($350)?
www.propellerhead.se

Both of these are excellent sequencing tools.

As far as DP4 goes I am still playing with it.
As far as Cubase goes "I have no idea!" ($600 or $300)
As far as Logic is concerned "I have no clue!" ($1000 or $300)

In terms of ease of use, I would imagine that most of these
audio apps have the same learning curve. Reason seemed very
daunting at first, but after a couple of weeks of playing with it,
everything kind of came together and made sense.
Live is relatively the same learning curve just a different program
with more of a Recording and Loop approach.

Anyone who is hoping to just magically understand any of these
sequencing programs, better already know a lot about sequencing
or be prepared to put some time into reading the manual. If you
don't want to learn them, then buy Garageband because it IS really
easy. It will sequence, is dirt cheap, and plays loops.

You are on the right way.... with reason and reaktor U gonna get great sounds, and more... but U still have to get that sequencer that lets you work with pictures, and that's not the case of the 2 before mentioned... even need it to get that proffessional ending sound, if U are interested...
Anyway, I have not idea wich one is the adecuated... I'm working on Cubase now... fantastic, also in rewire with reason... but I do not work with pictures, so I do not use the video and all the features 4 that... and always heard how great logic is!!!, but I just don't know...
Good luck ...
