I've experimented a lot of drops and 'craks' noises when I make audio records with my USB audio interface. I've a one iMic and also one Roland UA-30. I've test a lot of combinations between software and hardware, and anything work's good.
It doesnt matter what software you use. I've try with Peak, Sound edit, Cubase, and Sound Studio 1.5 (on Mac OS X).
First, the I detected this problem in my ibook SE G3/466 USB FireWire, and I tryed to use this interfaces with CUBE, PowerBook G4 and iMac, and the problem continue.
Can anybody help me, please.
Thanks.

You don't say what the sound is coming from - microphone, guitar, -10 line level out of a mixing board. Also, does this only happen using analog inputs, or does it occur with the S/PDIF inputs also? I'm sure you know not to record to the startup drive, so are you recording to a firewire drive or USB? If it's USB, that could be compromising the throughput on the USB buss. One last thing, you are using OS 9.1, I hope, as 9.0.4 never handled USB audio reliably in my experience.
Hope this helps you.
