Which one of these three low-budget microphones do you think would be best for recording electric guitars? (mostly clean)
SHURE SM57 SHURE BETA 57A Blue Ball dynamic
Other suggestions at around the same price range would of course be welcome...
Thanks
Situation is:
Another member of the band I'm in is going to buy a Windoz PC sometime in the next month. We are obviously going to need to exchange files, well at least that's the whole idea. So, does anybody know if there are compatibility problems between LE7 Mac and LE7 PC? And what about M-powered?
Thanks.
I have recently upgraded from Panther to Tiger and LE 6.4 to 7.0. Although performance has been significally boosted, Pro Tools often crashes for no obvious reason. There is also some other weird behaviour, like the edit window stopping displaying changes until you re-click on it, or a record-enabled track not recording unless you switch it off and on again. I'm thinking that perhaps some of my plugins need upgrading too, but could it be this that's causing all these problems? Has anybody experienced the same, or does anybody have any ideas of how to solve this? (Lousy digidesign site doesn't seem to mention anything, but in such a chaos I might just have not seen it)
Thanks.
System: 1.8Ghz imac, 1GB ram, Mbox 1, 160 GB external firewire(400) HD
Simple question: Which pair of headphones do you think would be best for studio use with a budget of up to 300 euros? (Resellers here refuse to order such "expensive" headphones just for me to hear them out myself. Life is hard for musicians in Greece) Thanks in advance
I'm looking for a good mic for recording electric guitars. Most sources suggest going for the SHURE SM57, but I've tried it and wasn't too much impressed. Our band needs to record both rythmic and effected guitars, and our amps are a bit lousy. We already own an SM58 and an AER compact head preamp. Any suggestions? (Prices up to $400 should be OK)
Thanks in advance
