how many tracks will the mbox get if i use it with a 12.1 G4 Pb 867, with 60ghd and 640 ram? will this set up get me the most bang for my buck, considering that i will be starting a tour in the summer and want to record on the road?

i've been using an imac with cubase vst 5.0 for two years, and have always had trouble with playback at a later time. there would always be glitches and gaps in the song.

it would be for recording live music

also, how much will performance improve with a firewire harddrive.

any help would be great

I can get 20+ mono tracks on a PB G4 667 with an external 7200 rpm Firewire HD with up to 3 inserts/sends/plug-ins and maybe 12 internal mix busses. Awesome mobile Mac rig if I do say so myself. Very stable with the last update and sounds sweet, too. Just remember the Mbox is a stereo interface. Have a great tour. cool.gif

what brand of firewire harddrive do you have?

i thought that the mbox could go both mono and stereo, are you using pro tools? what do you use to input sound.

whats the sound quality on reworking a saved song like?
