(I have TWIN Event PS5 speakers, hence the joking title)
I have had the same problem for a long time. My Event PS5 speakers have a problem.. I can only get sound out of one of them. the other isn't broken becuase whichever one I put the left, (or mono) line cable into, IT works. the other won't.
it was brought to my attention that it could be the panning of just one speaker. But in Logic, I just went to a midi track, and when I panned left the sound on the ONE speaker got louder, and when I panned right, there was NO sound at all.
so then, what should I try? and also, maybe Logic has my speakers set on MONO, hense the mono cable making one speaker work...
help!! I really want to play through both speakers... I use the small Apple speakers for cd playback. other wise I would test the Event ones... i don't know how to program my Event speakers to be a default.. I ALREADY emailed Event and they mentioned the panning...
But what can I do in Logic to control these speakers so both work...STEREO!!!
I am in Logic 5.5 on Jaguar osx 10.2.3 on a Roland xp30 synth

I wanted to know what audio interface (PRO) you would recommend. I dont want to spend more than 400, and I would buy something used if it worked fine...
do you have anything for sale? my imic just won't cut it if I ever want to professionally score a film...
I like the Motu 828, but its too expensive.... could that Logic 2/8 work for me? I might buy another keyboard, a semi-weighed full-size midi controller keyboard... so, I just need something I can use as an audio interface even if I just use one keyboard at a time. ( I would have 2 then )

I re-did this score I am working on for a short film, becuase I have until tomorrow to send it out.... but I have a problem!
I recorded the midi track via my Event speakers, and I finished the score, but in order to bounce it to audio, I need to unplug my audio outputs on my Roland xp30 keyboard and I need to plug in another audio cord that can plug into the iMIC..
but, when I plugged in to the imic, there is no sound coming through! none from the headphones, none from the apple speakers....
how can I make this work? with the imic in, I can play just ONE track on my keyboard, track 1, the piano, but none others... when I play the song, no sound comes out! when I click on the notes in the matrix editer in LOGIC ( like a piano roll, etc... ) note for note, no sound comes out...
what should I do?

p.s. I tried plugging on for my speakers, and one for the imic...but to no avail!
In the not-to-distant future, I may have the opportunity to score a film using a real orchestra. Now, I took a theory class at my junior college last semester, and I know the basics, but when it comes to writiing for the real thing, I am completely new. My question is, should I rely on the comprehensive SCORE section of Logic platinum to automatically write it FOR me, just paying attention to recording... provided that I learn the whole SCORE section first, so I can detect errors... Or should I go the traditional way, and read books on HOW to write for the orchestra, all of the different instruments.. because I dont know...if I give a printed score from Logic, will the orchestra play it different than I envisioned? Will I sound completely different, even if, in the future, I am using superb software instruments like Vienna and Spectrasonics? All advice is welcome! - jeffro
When I am bouncing this particular completed midi song that is about 5 and a half minutes long, when it comes near the end, an overload window opens up, stopping the recording.
“Core Audio: Disk is too slow or system monitoring (100008) "
Then, I turned off Audio input monitoring from the help advice to help, but it didnt. I even cleared some stuff on my HD. Isnt 30 extra free Gigs enough???
How do I clear it up so it doesnt overload? I tried restarting, but it didnt work... I dont have any applications running, and no screen saver, or anything... but I heard that turning off virtual memory helps..but I cant find where to turn virtual memory off at! where do you go? Its discouraging becuase it overloads 4 seconds before the end of the song! Im sure if I change something else it could work.... does this mean that a 10 minute song will not work? or is it just that the song is complex at the end? when I click on an audio track, should audio in AND out show activity? or course, they BOTH do when I am clicked on a midi track...
any suggestions? - jeffro
