Hi, all...

I'm running Pro Tools LE on a B&W G3 300mhz. The Digidesign Mbox is my sound input device.

My problem is that, as far as I can tell, the only way to adjust input volume is manually with the Mbox's built in pre-amps.

The Mbox seems to override the computer's input gain control, or, maybe more accurately, it runs independent of the input gain control.

So... I have two questions... does anyone know how to adjust the "input" gain WITHIN the Pro Tools software?

Or... does anyone know of a third party plug-in that allows you to adjust the computer's input gain... or the Pro Tools input gain within the software?

I've got a low output mic (a Beyer Dynamic M500), and the pre-amp is just working too hard... and so I'm getting an unacceptable amount of hiss.

Need help if anyone has it to offer!

thanks!!!

check the hardware setup form pull down menus in PTLE and I thnk it should have the option of adjusting the gains for the 2 channels but I am not exactly sure if it works this way with Mbox but my Digi001 does and they very similar in function. wink.gif

hey was going on. I to at one point had a an m box and never had the porblem you are talking about but from what you said i would suggest possibly just going to whatever tracks are giving you alot of hiss and use the audio suite plug in "gain" and cut the gain a bit......hope this helps....later
