Hello fellow Machanics,

Has any one experienced this ??
Or am I doing something terribly wrong !!

Basically - I create several bus objects ( or whatever they are now called in LP8 ).
Put these in environment layer marked bus.
Carry on mixing my song and doing the usual stuff...mainly working in the mixer view.
At some point I inevitably group the busses and pull the level down in unison say if things get 'too hot' in master out.
Then ungroup busses and here it is..........
THE BUS OBJECTS DISAPPEAR at random in their environment !!!
I first noticed something was amiss when visiting bus environment layer some chanel strips were missing within the line up.
Last nite I grouped and ungrouped the bus channels whilst in the environment and right before my eyes everytime I grouped / ungrouped a channel strip would disappear.
I did this until one-by-one they all vanished !!

I haven't had time to see if I leave the bus channels in the main audio layer if this happens but I will test this later this week.

Am I going crazy ?
Doing something wrong ?
Or not drinking enough strong ale ??

Comments / advice most welcome.

P.S - several minor problems that I previously reported with LP7 have cleared up in LP8 - just these disappearing busses bugging me now !!

Here goes.....
I have a mix of a song created in a commercial studio - I bounced a rough stereo mix and imported the stereo mix into a new project at home so that I can add keyboards.
I set project tempo to 165 BPM
I got my talented friend to play keyboards via midi to the audio song at home and all is great.
Perfectly in time.
Then burned off disc at home containing midi data and audio file in sync.

Then I took the project back to the commercial studio and imported the midi keyboard into the original song.
OH SHIT - the original song was 163 BPM not 165 - I made a mistake but now the midi keyboard part is out of sync.

Have tried moving the midi part but it will not go back in time.
Yes , I can bounce the midi keyboard part to audio and import this into the commercial project but I lose the ability to edit midi or change the keyboard sound in the final mix.

I use Logic latest version and the commercial studio uses Logic latest version too.

Is there a way of turning the midi 'snap' or whatever that makes the midi think it is playing at 163 ??

In other words can I import the midi as I would audio that does not take into account the 2 BPM difference ?
Does the midi have to stick to the songs tempo in which it was recorded ?
It was intime with the audio at home..
Surely there must be a fix....
HELP !!

Hi,
Running latest LOGIC and latest OSX...
This is a samll problem but it is driving me nuts !!

After a while recording/mixing etc the computer keyboard ( not controller keyboard ) gradually stops working.
Usually the track re size keys ( control + arrows ) stop working first.
Then numerical keys stop working - so I am often stuck on say a mixer page unable to go back to the arrange page.
At this point I have to save and close Logic then it will work as normal again....
Another symptom is that the track strips wont show properly i.e some details are missing , fader strip etc - also the floating toolbox shows as BLANK squares with no tools in them...other similar graphic probs too..
Same thing I save and re start and usually all works well for a while.
I got a new iMac and swapped keyboard it seemed to solve problem at first then - out of the blue the keyboard stopped working slowly one key at a time !!
I tried different usb ins for keyboard and recently bought a Kensington 7-way powered usb port - everything else works fine but track graphics and keyboard problems STILL happen quite randomly !!

Anyone - any ideas .... it is annoying really - it's not stopping me from working - just ANNOYING.

Cheers Paul

Having a few minor probs with input devices hooked up to my G5 and logic..
I have a Korg pad attatched via usb and a midi keyboard via midi/usb midiman interface.
The pad works fine for programming drums etc BUT when wanting to use the keyboard the pad seems to override the keyboard for logics input preference for controller...
The keyboard does not work unless I unplug the korg pad and restart logic.
Is there something I've missed with setting things up ?
Surely there is a way to switch between the pad and the keyboard without turning things off or restarting.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Paul

I put os 9 on my G5 OS 10.4.7 because I found an old programme that used it anyway I decided not to run the programme SO now I want to get rid of OS 9 from my G5 but don't want to mess my sysytem up ...

CAN ANY ONE ADVISE ME - should I remove OS 9 ?

>>> If so HOW ?<<<<

Does OS 9 affect the day-to-day running of my beloved G5 / Logic set-up unless OS 9 is started up ??

I had a feeling that Logic did'nt work as well after putting 9 on there but that could be my imagination !
When it is not activated does OS 9 effect the computer or drain any resourses in any way ??

Help on this matter appreciated.
THANKS GUYS
