Devon Dotson will have a special opportunity coming his way this weekend.

The KU basketball sophomore point guard received an invite to the CP3 Elite Guard Camp and was listed on the roster for the college attendees — as was shared in a tweet by The Athletic s Andrew Slater.

The CP3 Elite Guard Camp is a chance for players across the country — at both the high school and college levels — to work out with one of the most statistically accomplished point guards in NBA history and future Hall of Famer in Chris Paul, who now plays with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Paul, of course, was traded for former Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook earlier this month.

For more on the event, here is how the camp s website describes the opportunity

The CP3 Elite Guard Camp annually features the top 30 high school point guards from around the country including the top players from his home state of North Carolina and the top 15 college point guards for an intense three day training camp with Chris overseeing each session. Players are tutored from Chris on everything from skill development to film breakdown to life skills. Current and former NBA Coaches and Elite High School Coaches round out the staff to provide a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Dotson is coming off a standout freshman season in which he started all 36 games for the Kansas Jayhawks and averaged 32.4 minutes per contest. Dotson, who posted 12.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, shot 53.3 percent on 2 point field goals https://www.kansasjayhawksshop.com/dwight-c...ersey-c-12.html, 36.3 percent on 3 point field goals and 78.2 percent on free throws last year.

Among the North Carolina native s top performances were a 25 point https://www.kansasjayhawksshop.com/tyler-se...ersey-c-10.html, 10 rebound, five assist, two steal outing against TCU in which Dotson helped the Jayhawks to a road win in overtime. He also posted 20 points, four assists, three rebounds and three steals in a home victory against Texas Tech. Dotson reached double figures in scoring in 24 different contests. He scored fewer than eight points in a game only six times in his freshman campaign.

Following the season, Dotson declared for the NBA Draft and tested out at the NBA Draft Combine. On the final day for players to pull their name out of the draft and return to college, he announced he was coming back to Kansas for his sophomore season. Dotson later told reporters he was given a few areas that he could stand to improve.

I would say just [being] more consistent with my outside shot, creating space with my shot, just different ways of getting into it, Dotson said. I would say better decision making out there on the court https://www.kansasjayhawksshop.com/clay-you...ersey-c-11.html, quicker decision making.

Dotson will be changing his jersey number next season Malik Newman Jersey, as he will go from the No. 11 he wore as a freshman to No. 1, the same number sported by one of his favorite basketball players growing up in Derrick Rose. Rose wore that number when he played with the Chicago Bulls.

North Texas graduate transfer Ryan Woolridge wasn’t interested in media attention or seeing his name all over social media when he was considering where he would play his senior season.

He was more interested in finding the right fit.

Woolridge was nearing a final decision – Minnesota was considered the frontrunner – before Gonzaga entered the picture. He visited Spokane over the weekend and committed Sunday to the Zags.

“I actually heard from the Zags a long time ago and they hit me back up maybe a couple weeks ago,” Woolridge said in a phone interview. “I was about to make a decision https://www.gonzagabulldogsjersey.com/jacob...ersey-c-10.html, but I opened it up and took a look at them. That’s how it went.”

And just like that, the Zags have found their probable starting point guard in Woolridge, who figures to join Texas A M grad transfer Admon Gilder in the backcourt.

Woolridge visited Oklahoma State, Minnesota and Arkansas. He said Arizona was also in his final five. He heard from a number of schools in the last two weeks, including UCLA.

“I just had a list of checkmarks and I wanted to see which school would fill the most checkmarks,” said Woolridge, whose parents accompanied him on the trip to Spokane. “Gonzaga was the best fit for me in all those categories. I’m so comfortable with the coaches and players. It felt like the right move for me.”

Same goes for the Zags, who have been searching for another experienced, versatile guard. They brought in Derryck Thornton for a visit, but the USC grad transfer announced last Monday he was going to Boston College.

Starting point guard Josh Perkins and backup Geno Crandall were seniors on Gonzaga’s 33 win team last season and guard Zach Norvell Jr. opted to turn pro after his sophomore year. Rising sophomore point guard Greg Foster Jr. announced last week he was transferring to St. Joseph’s.

Gonzaga has revamped its backcourt with the additions of Woolridge and Gilder. Rising redshirt sophomore Joel Ayayi should be in the rotation and incoming freshman Brock Ravet will compete for time at point and shooting guard. Junior Corey Kispert started at wing last season.

Woolridge had surgery shortly https://www.gonzagabulldogsjersey.com/josh-...jersey-c-9.html after the season ended to repair a stress fracture in his patella kneecap . He said his recovery is ahead of schedule and he’s already doing some light running and jumping. He expects to be at full speed for his senior season.

Woolridge averaged 11.7 points , 5.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists as a junior at North Texas , earning third team All Conference USA honors. He made nearly 49 from the field, 33 behind the 3 point line and 54.2 at the free throw line in 89 career games, including 76 starts https://www.gonzagabulldogsjersey.com/rem-b...ersey-c-11.html, for the Mean Green.

“I definitely bring experience, quickness and an ability to read the defense,” said Woolridge, who has graduated and is eligible immediately. “I have a high IQ for the game and I bring grit, giving 100 percent every time I step on the floor.”

Woolridge had 12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists against Indiana State in December, the program’s first triple Bryan Alberts Jersey double since 1993 and the only one by a Conference USA player last season.

Bob Huggins says his newcomers are quickly becoming acclimated with summer practices underway, thanks to the guidance of his team’s leaders.

The thing is — many of those leaders were freshmen last season.

“They’re good https://www.wvubasketballjersey.com/maciej-...ersey-c-11.html,” said Huggins. “You really can’t tell the difference between the old guys and the new guys. Course, the old guys aren’t that old, except for [senior] Jermaine [Haley].

Huggins says a number of sophomores are working together to help newcomers get comfortable at WVU, adding that Jordan McCabe and Emmitt Matthews especially have stepped up.

“Jordan and Emmitt, I think Wesley Harris Jersey, have been great,” said Huggins. “I mean, those guys do a great job of trying to include everybody in virtually everything that they do. They embraced some of the things that we’ve always done. The children’s hospital thing; we’ve played paint ball, we’ve shot skeet https://www.wvubasketballjersey.com/teddy-a...ersey-c-12.html, we’ve played softball, we’ve done all that. They embrace that, and I’m not sure that’s been the case the last few years.”

Huggins says there’s already a chemistry in the locker room that reminds him of some of his best teams.

“They get along great. https://www.wvubasketballjersey.com/james-b...ersey-c-10.html They hang together,” said Huggins. “It’s a lot like the really good teams we’ve had in the past.”

One of the top prospects from the 2020 class announced major news involving his recruitment process. Five star recruit https://www.dukebluedevilsjersey.com/sean-o...ersey-c-12.html Walker Kessler revealed his top six on Friday, as the Georgia native takes the next step toward his decision.

Kessler is the No. 16 overall recruit and No. 4 center in his class Mason Plumlee Jersey, per 247Sports. He’s already got the ideal size to thrive at his position.

While there were a few guarantees as to which teams would remain in Kessler’s top six, he did also make a few surprising decisions.

The six programs in consideration for Walker’s commitment are Auburn, Cal, Duke, Gonzaga https://www.dukebluedevilsjersey.com/nick-p...ersey-c-14.html, Michigan and North Carolina.
Many experts anticipated Duke being among the six teams on his list. Mike Krzyzewski has interest in adding Kessler, who could become the third five star recruit to join his 2020 class.

The biggest surprise from this list is that Kessler removed Georgia from the sweepstakes. Several members of his family played for the program and have established a strong connection.

Although Duke is currently the front runner to land Kessler https://www.dukebluedevilsjersey.com/jack-w...ersey-c-13.html, Michigan is another team that is worth keeping an eye on. Juwan Howard can make a huge statement in his first year as the head coach by receiving a commitment from the talented center.

We’ll continue to provide updates on Kessler’s recruitment.
