So bought the upgrade to Logic Pro 7. Had been running 6.4.something-or-other. I was trying to load up the goofy tutorial song, but it seems that on my computer it doesn't show any folder for Logic 7. I have a file that opens Logic 7 called Logic Pro, and I did an install with all the content from the disk by that title, but nothing there still...
Should I have take 6 completely off my computer? (Seemed like a bad idea...)
Had the wierdest thing happen to me yesterday. Used to be that whenever I turned on my MOTU 828 mk II, the FireWire console would come up immediately... then that stopped happening and when I opened it separately, the interface still wouldn't do anything... tried restarting the computer, unplugging and plugging both ends of the FireWire cord, and downloading the drivers again... nuthin' worked...
today I plug in the CD and load it, and boom, it's working again? WTH!?! Anyone else have something like this happen... *?*... and how worried should I be?
So i was down at Guitar Center today looking for a good length of Optical Cable, because my stereo that I use to monitor all my equipment is 5.1 capable. Logic Pro + MOTU 828 MkII also 5.1 capable. The thing is that I live with the g/f, and all the stuff kind of has to go in one room. (Yes, I know this isn't good for recording accoustics, but it's what I have for now).
To the question. He said that you couldn't find very long optical cable because digital cables loose their strength, or some such, with too much length? How true is that?
I usually answer my own questions once I send out a post, but any help would still be appreciated...
Okay, so I have a USB Midisport Uno running my Korg Trition and my MOTU 828 MKII running the midi for my Akai. Why the heck is it that whenever I change my Port 1 to 828 mkII it changes it back to Port 1. This is making it impossible to sequence my Akai through Logic.
Okay. So I'm nearly through with the Logic "Getting Started" book. Love it, and endorse it, BUT...
I went through the set-up assistant and all, it read my 828 mkII and brings up all the inputs, but it's not giving me any levels (on screen in the Track Mixer) when I play my Korg or my Akai??? Why the heck is that?
