Hi,
First post and I really need some advice on the best option for me. I currently run a Mac Mini via USB > Benchmark USB DAC1 > Dynaudio Air monitors - only for two channel playback.
I know this is probably not the best way to interface between a Mac and an active pair of monitors that can accept AES/EUB - digital XLR. The Benchmark DAC1 is adding a layer of conversion that is not needed.
What is the best way to go Mac optical out and convert to AES/EUB digital XLR? I have seen a possible solution:

Or are there other more suitable options?
Also, is there a way to go Firewire 800 > AES/EUB - XLR?
Any advice??
Thanks,
MontyW
Anyone?
A few I've tracked down, but as I've never meddled with the optical out I advise you to verify it's compatible (or if someone can here ?)

If it helps, it seems to be rather video oriented converters these things.
