yeah. im interesting in finding an affordable program which lets me plug into my computer and record multiple tracks (guitar). i have an old 4 track cassette recorder and it no longer cuts it... i dont care TOO much about the bells and whistles (although they are nice). i was leaning towards garage band, but i dont really know any better. suggestions?

If you haven't upgraded to iLife 4 yet, Garage Band is definitely a good reason to do so. For a bundled application, you will find it to be a great place to start. Honestly, it couldn't be any simpler. From there you can work and decide if you need more features, etc. I sincerely believe that Garage Band is aimed for musicians who have worked within the limitations of a 4-track.

Dude, you wanna get your hands on Logic Education - it retails for about 80 pounds in the UK - about $50?
It's a simple piece of kit, and if you ever do decide to progress to the higher end of logic, you'll be familiar with the interface. |

good recommendation as Logic has fair upgrade paths fitting many unique situations. once Logic 7 is released, it will definitely be more intuitive, tho.
