hi thisis me first post

what do you think about track ball mouse
will it make it easier to edit on my sequencer etc

and which do you think is best deal
looked at logitech and kensington

Hey welcome

This is very personal, I use only a tablet myself and always disliked trackballs, trackpads etc. But this _is_ personal.

All the mice I've met made by Logitech and Kensington were serious stuff. Kensington had a trackball of death at one time… but never met it.

Tablet wise, Wacom rules.

I use a logitech marble mouse USB for my work with the DAW. It gives me fairly precise control over the faders and better control of the pots. But, as lepetitmatien states, this is a personal choice. It needs to fit your general mousing style and also be comfortable for you to use. If you'll be doing MIDI track edits, then you'll need to be comfortable with the point and click as much as with the cursor movement.

Dont forget to learn all the keyboard combos thats assigned in your favourite daw/sequencer.

In Digital Performer that I use you can also customize these keyboard shortcuts to just about any action.
( one of the many great features in this daw )

The trick is to avoid reptitive motions whenever possible - to reduce the risk of RSI:s.

I use a Kensington trackball every day and I don't think i'll ever u se anything else.
Got parkinson's disease and it's the only way I can get things done with any comfort and accuraccy.
works fine with all my macmusic apps. Actually superior to mouse. I never did learn all the tricks it will do.

Yes, input devices are very much a personal preference. I don't play nicely with trackballs myself, but that's just me. One suggestion, though: Whatever you think you might want, go into a store first and spend some time playing with it. Pointing devices are one thing that you are usually better off buying from a store vs. online, so you can play with them first.

And whatever you get, make sure it's a device capable of precision pointing, because you'll be needing that a lot for MIDI and audio editing. I had an ALPS touchpad for a while. It was great for general use, but for MIDI editing, it was too difficult to position the cursor precisely enough.

logitech, kensington et.c. but the one that i love is firmed by ...

im useing a kensingtion one now no more RSI for me

just dont get a wireless one i started with one, they suck!
