bonjour,

est-ce quelqu'un connait cette boîte aux US???

elle fabrique, et pas seulement, des chassis d'extension pci-e qui m'ont été indiqué
par Universal Audio pour étendre ma configuration de cartes; et les prix sont beaucoup moins
chers que ceux pratiqués par Magma par éxemple (voir avec les frais de douane aussi??)
je possède 2 machines:
un G5 PPC Quad avec 3 cartes UAD1-e et un Macpro Quad Core 2*2,8 avec 2 cartes UAD2-e;
le but étant de regrouper mes 5 cartes (UAD1 et UAD2) sur le seul Macpro.
(est-ce possible d'ailleurs de regrouper 2 systèmes d'autorisation différents sur le site de UA?)

la boîte m'a renvoyé un email très sympathique en me précisant les deux modèles de chassis qui
correspondent parfaitement à ce que j'envisage, mais elle stipule ceci:

"This makes it ideal for audio processing applications like UA and ProTools. We recommend the 600-2705 if you have a true x8 electrical slot on the host, not just a x8 mechanical connector. The 600-2704 is recommended if you do not have a true x8 electrical slot on the host."

quelqu'un peut-il me dire quelle est la différence et bien sûr de quel type de slot est pourvu le Macpro QuadCore?

en ce qui concerne les châssis je ne vais pas pouvoir te répondre, par contre il y a une chose dont je suis certain c'est qu'il est possible de regrouper tes autorisations car je l'ai fait pas plus tard qu'hier

d'elle dépendait en grande partie le futur achat de ce chassis! youpi donc!
c'est pas trop prise de tête les transferts d'autorisations de systèmes sur une autre machine? je suppose que ce cas de figure est expliqué sur le site UA....

j'ai envoyé un mail au support technique UA.
peut-être pourront-ils me confirmer...wait & see

Yes the UAD-2 boards are compatible and you can mix UAD-1 and UAD-2 in a system. Audio bandwidths are quite small (but latency sensitive) compared to the capacities of the Expansion systems.

Three open full-length PCI Express expansion slots5
One PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot

All slots provide mechanical support for 16-lane cards
300W combined maximum for all PCI Express slots
If you plug the Cyclone HBA into the x16 slot, you can use the 2705 System. If you plug the Cyclone into the x4 slot, you need the 2704 system.

Hello,

I do not have any official test data for the UAD2 and external chassis. The UAD testing engineers have said that if your UAD1e card works in your current chassis then it is very likely that it should work fine with the UAD2. The UAD drivers support a maximum of 4 UAD1 and 4 UAD2 cards in one computer.

The only information I have on Mac hardware would be that the G5 Quad systems have PCI-Express slots. You will need to contact Apple support for specifics on the hardware in their systems.
