Not very impressed. If you want better - see Scarbee. If you want cheaper - see Wizoo. Plus we've all seen the lack of committment to bug fixies from N.I. (see their forums for the long complaint lists). Wish they would fix the equipment they already have on the market instead of spending their time on new toys.

I agree with pdgood about the bug fixes.

ie: Battery with ASIO on OS 9 still hasn't been fixed when use it as a stand alone, and now they come out with OS X.
And I can't use 290 Bosendolf as a stand alone. It works as plug in only.
NI DFD is a joke: It's unusable. angry.gif

amen, brother. And now you have new sounds you can buy that won't work with DFD either.

Thanks, all, for your opinions -- that's the kind of discussion I like to see going.

My own experience with Native has been very positive, but this illustrates why it's important to check personal experience with others -- mileage may very.

As for Elektrik Piano, I'll keep in mind the others for comparison and reserve my final judgment until I've actually played them. And, admittedly, what I should really do is bulk up in a big way and carry around the real thing. There's got to be a gym in New York that can whip me into the shape necessary to carry a Wurlitzer, right? ;-)

Seriously, do let us know what you're using and why; thanks!

There has been constant reports of buggy ports to OSX for some of NI stuff on the French forum, I'd like to hear from it more here wink.gif

Maybe it'll help raise the thing and help NI to solve the problems whatever they are.

In their defense, there's a HUGE amount of software they've moved to OS X very quickly, and the road has been rocky with a lot of apps. So I'm very anxious to dig to the bottom of this and figure out how widespread the bugs are and whether they've been adequately addressed.

I OWN ALL THE NI STUFF. I HAVE A MAC G4800 W/768 RAM. IT INTEGRATES PERFECTLY WITH MY PRO TOOLS HD3 SYS. I AM ON OSX PANTHER AND HAVE NEVER HAD AN NI SYNTH CRASH. THEY DONT SOUND AS LIVELY AS THE ARTURIA STUFF, BUT THEN AGAIN, THE ARTURIA STUFF USES TOO MUCH DSP.

Please don't SHOUT blink.gif smile.gif

Arturia is total physic modelization for the Moogs, and it means : CPU load load load, you need an over the GHz to be fine, quite normal your G4 can't cope with it, he has already to cope with OS X wink.gif laugh.gif

BTW Arturia is not on DSP but on your CPU only. To be on DSP it'd need to be TDM and run on the farms. It may be that NI stuff is better streamlined too… unsure.gif

Right Peter, just like Nuendo on mac, it's things nobody talks really about, but there are people with problems nonetheless… If some have non, then WHY? rolleyes.gif
