-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have had numerous problems with my new powerbook 12inch....
Live freezes, cubase freezes...could this be a result of my firewire 410??? I've sent it to apple to do a hardware test - as far as they are concerned it is working fine, it's just when i run my music apps. They also hit me with 66 bucks because the didn't find anything wrong with it.
I got it back today and it has frozen three times. Once using live once using cubase and then once when i went to shut the machine down - just freezes. I have the appropriate driver for my firewire 410. Do you think my software is corrupt???? Can Macs become currupt if you download sit files from your pc and put them on your mac eg, i did that with the demo of live (couldn't use my install disk because the stupid machine wouldn't read the disk), the firewire driver, plugins also downloaded on pc and then put on mac
Anybody, please help...i am so drained........wuz running everything on my old ibook fine....wish i'd kept it, i have a friggin gig next week too.
What you guys think about using an imac G5 for live gigs. It's cheaper and seems fairly portable.
i am in the process of setting up a laptop for live. I have an Ibook g4, Ableton Live 4 and A Korg Micro Kontrol controller keyboard. Everything works fine - i just have to buy an interface. My band consists of mysef who does keyboards and beats - then guitar, bass, vocals and live drums. I want to be able to send a seperate mix to the drummer so he can play along with the beats. The M audio 410 seems to be the goer. I have looked at the Edirol FA 101 but everyone on the forum seems to like the 410.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
