Hiya Guys,

I'm new to this so go easy on me!!

I'm a uk based music producer and recently i've really been getting into sampling my old music, stuff like herbie hancock etc.

But theres so much good music out there, where do I start!! I love sampling and using jazz, disco and funk tracks..

Can anyone tell me like a webpage or something where I can find out good artists/albums to sample or do you guys have any suggestions or advice you can offer me..

I make dance music and love using obscure samples so any help you can fling me would be apprceciated

Thanks. biggrin.gif

sorry. that was a bit sarcastic. there are thousands and thousands
of samples and grooves out there on cds, as wav/aiff files just google it.
orrr go to a music sho pand have a look at some of the off the shelf
groove collections - they are expensive, but the grooves are clean and very easy to use.( they can be as much as 60 quid.

Disco/funk/rare groove fansites are good ways to steer yourself towards
the real killer tracks.

i will say this....there is a great deal of competition in the world of groove
detection....i mean there is a whole culture of 'fresh groove' one upmanship out there particularly in the world of hip hop.

best bet -go to specialist record fairs - spend a fortune - use your audio interface - computer recordiong - voila - you are doing the ting.

Check out www.planetsample.com

Alot of the stuff on Elements of Electronica will probably be right up your alley.
