Hi,
I am using a Powerbook G4 with OSX Jaguar 10.2.8. Which audio-interface with multiple ins and outs should I buy? Right now I am using a Tascam US122 which works very fine. ![]() |

Does your powerbook have a slot for a PCMCIA-Card (15" and 17")?
Then I suggest you have a look at the RME Hammerfall Multiface with Cardbus (also called "Mobile Kit"). 0 Latency with Powerbook and best test results in one of the last Keys-Magazines (German Mag). Best wishes, ZC ![]() |

A PCMCIA card is only for PC's isn't it?
My Powerbook haven't got one. ![]() |

If you have the new G4 Powerbook, 15 or 17-inch models, you should have a slot on your left hand side, right next to the mic and earphone contacts.
I also have a G4 PB and have been using M-Audio Firewire 1814 for a while now and can report that I'm quite happy with it. It's got everything I need: several analog inputs 2 of them phantom powered, 2 headphone outs, MIDI-connection, and some other stuff that I haven't quite figured out yet but will get to one of these days. I'm no genius when it comes to these things, but it has worked without a glitch so far (well, after I updated my drivers anyway) and that's pretty much enough for me. I mainly use it to record vocals, guitar, base, and have a MIDI-keyboard connected. If you use the hardware monitoring option, there's no perceptible latency. |
