Hi guys,
Can someone tell me how to set up Protools for monitoring with fx's during recording. I would like to have some reverb on the mic and play guitar with the sound of amplitube on my headphone. Thanxs in advance |

The best way to use effects in Pro Tools are these...
If you mean compressors or delays I just insert them on the channel strip I'm working with. Hit Command and + to toggle between the mix window and the edit window. While in the mix window you can click on the little buttons at the top of the channel strip. This is where to add plug-ins. I think once you click a button the rest will be self explanatory. You can select Amplitube from the plugins list and go to it! The other way to put stuff like reverb on tracks is to use a send and return configuration. Command shift N gives you the create new track window. Select 1 for track select stereo and select aux send for the last choice. Take the new channel strip and insert a reverb. Click a button on the next box of buttons and select stereo verb/slap send. Now you can click a button in the second box on the channel strip you want to effect and select slap/verb send, fiddle with the level to get a good return level on the channel strip with the reverb inserted on it. Now you can mix the reverb intensity by moving the fader on the reverb channel. Almost forgot... Before all of this... Press.. Command shift N and create a master fader. I think that just about does it. |
