i was looking at a dual 1.25 mac g4 with 1 gig ram...

is this over kill, or ok? anyone have any suggestions or known conflicts that i should avoid?

i am natively a pc user that is making the switch, so i kinda need some help...

we will be using the system to compose commercial dance music

definitely not overkill.... I recommend getting as much speed as possible if buying a new computer just to make it last longer before feeling the need to upgrade.

as for conlficts... I don't know of any but maybe someone else who is using Version 6 will have more info as I am still in 4.8.1 wink.gif

thanks for the response...

being a new mac user, i am a little nervous since the pc world responds differently to software...

example:
i am currently running sonar 2.2xl on a 1.8pc with 512mb and it works... ok, minus all the blue screens of death, all of the streamlining i had to do, oh yeah i cant forget disabling the power management system, the countless hours trying to find support to guide me through and then being told they cant tell me what to do because of liabilities... yuck... i hate it

i am hoping that the mac will be my rescue with far less issues

synthetic, what kind of music do you write? is it available to listen to?
