I've been using Cubase SE on my iBook and a couple of times when recording from my minidisc deck through the optical on my Firewire 410 I've run into an odd problem. It'll look like it's recording fine and I don't see any problems. When I hit stop on recording it will look like something is there, but I don't get a wave form and nothing plays back. I can delete the apparent track, but there doesn't seem to be any data. I'll take the same track making no changes (besides rewinding to the beginning) and record again and it'll be fine. Anyone know what's going on with this? It hasn't been a big deal so far because I'm just transferring recordings from minidisc, but I don't want to have this problem when live recording with my laptop.

I sometimes get this as well and for me it happens when i haven't enabled the INPUTS of my sound card. I think the inputs (enabled / disadbled) vary from project to project, so if in one you have them enabled, in another project they might be disabled.

i hope that helps

I know I had my inputs set up correctly, I'm getting a signal on the monitor levels.
