Apologies if this topic has been dealt with previously, but...
I've just begun using my ibook to transfer LPs to CD and am disappointed with the sound quality. Clean, clear mid-range and treble, but no bottom end at all.

I'm using a Griffin imic and creating the AIFF files with consumer grade software called CD Spin Doctor, burning the CD's with Toast. The stereo is connected to the imic using the adapter cable that came with my copy of Toast.
I don't think there's a problem w/ the audio source - I'm confident in the turntable and amp.

So I'm trying to figure out what I'm up against. Would buying higher-quality adapter cables make a noticeable difference? Is the imic itself a limitation on sound quality? If so, can I upgrade without spending $$$. Any software or hardware tweaks that might improve things?

Sorry to be long-winded. I'd really appreciate any help!
