Cubase Vst 32/5 Sound Problems, Can't play song again without reopening

I am using cubase vst 32/5 on my G4 400Mhz - 256Mb ram and on some on my songs as soon as i stop them, it is impossible to get cubase to play again unless i close it and reopen the songs. On some of my songs i just can't get sound anymore (Midi or audio). All the meters seems to be working but no audio. I'm just about to give up this infernal program that is cubase and switch back to Master track pro on my Atari along w/ Pro tools on G4. Please help me!!!!!!!!! Thanks P.S. anyone knows about an Ensoniq Esq-1 emulator on Mac? Gnoshi
