Firewire has been around long enough that firewire 2 is now out. Why why why is there only a few firewire offerings for serious sound cards. The Motu 828 mk II, the M-Audio 410 and now their 1814, Edirol has the FA-101. And now Presonus has the Firepod.
You can get 8 Mic Pres In to Adat for as little as $229 from Behringer. how much more can it possibly cost to add a Firewire port to it??? And why are there not MANY other lower cost firewire i/o options available? Scott |

certainly because firewire just started to become a standart on PC high-end motherboards.
Usually Apple start, then, a few years after, the industry follows, then the price drops... There was many examples in the past: - Apple started to include CD-ROM player on computers - Apple started to include Airport (wifi) - Apple started to include USB (despite created by intel) etc...
