I have been using a PC for quite some time now and i am very used to cool edit pro. however due to space limitations i am having to get rid of the PC and move over to the mac totaly.

I am searching for a program that will allow me to do what i was in cool edit pro. I mainly used the track editing features to record sounds and put effects on them. i would amas a collection of wave files then mix them together with the multitrack editor.

I have looked ta peak and deck, deck doesn't seem to import any wave files that i have already created and crashes when i load a new file that i create in peak.

I have heard good things about digitam performer 4 but i am unable to find a demo to test this software out.

i also tryed audocity(sp) but this is not what i require.

There is no demo version of logic, except in I think the Apple book on learning logic (30 day thing).

But I can tell you that I got logic a little while ago and I am a convert. It is deep, and it just works, unlike the other stuff I have been using from a certain company called Digidesign. There are a number of things in logic you must learn from the manuals/books in order to understand what is going on, but once you get it, it is really nice to work with. Sure there are little things that could be done better, little quirks, but every software has those. And Logic's little issues are NOT in the flexibility, CPU efficiency or reliability departments. There are a few things I would like to see changed to make audio editing/effect applying flow quicker, but over all I am working completely in Logic now (I mean for a DAW - I also use MaxMSP and Cecilia extensively) and really enjoying it.
