that's exactly what i hear when i boot my g4.

i just bought new ram off ebay from ramdirect. the seller had 100% positive feedback and almost 10 000 sales, so i figured it'd be alright. when i google searched my problem (pairs of beeps at start up) i found that it could be a RAM issue. however, i've had my RAM installed for almost a week now and everything has been fine until now. nothing else seems to be wrong except that i get the beeps.

any suggestions?

powermac g4 quicksilver (single processor) 867mhz
panther
1gig ram (2oldx256 & 1newX512)

thanks, again
d.

hey...

thanks for all your help. everything seems to be working fine after i pushed the 'reset' button. i took out the 3rd drive that wasn't being recognized and i replaced it with another drive that only has os9 on it. it worked fine except for the fact that my other two drives weren't showing up. once i switched back to my original 3 drives (no os9) it was all good again. this isn't a problem since i haven't used os9 in months, but i don't really know what's wrong. at least the beeps are gone and i have what i need.

thanks again
d
