Hello. I'm having trouble figuring out why I can run sound through firewire that's coming from iTunes or any other program that outputs audio, but not from software sequencers. My setup includes an 828mkII, MTP AV, and an XP-80 and I'm running Reason and Live on a G4 laptop. I want to be able to send sequences or sessions from the programs through the firewire instead of the 1/8" output (which would take up two more of the inputs on the 828), so I changed the coreaudio default input, output and system output to the 828, and in both the programs set the audio card and/or outputs and inputs to the 828. The built in audio card seems to work just fine, so I know the programs are working because I can listen through the analog output on the laptop, but when I have things set to the 828 I get some nasty high pitched business coming out of my monitors. I swear I had both live and reason working through the firewire once before. Am I forgetting some major detail? Can anybody shed light on this problem? I'd greatly appreciate some insight. Thanks.

I was just reading through some more posts and it sounds like Panther could be causing all of this. I'm running OSX 10.3.2. That screeching white noise that makes a hum sound like heaven? Yeah, that's what I'm getting. Any insight anyone?
