Hey... i have about 1000 songs stored on my computer here at work and i have some older stuff and some newer. I had been listening to White Stripes first CD earlier in the day and then a Rush song came on from their first album. Guess what? Its obvious that White Stripes took the riff structure and chord structure on "Offend In Every Way" from the Rush song "Here Again" on their self titled album.
Anyone else noticed that? At first i thought it was just an influence but nope... its really same chords and riffs but just a little different arrangement, sound and lyrics. I listened to them back to back and confirmed this. Kinda funny how they did that.

cool... so I am not crazy then
not many people have heard both songs or can recal both so everyone i have told thinks I am generalizing it too much
I definitely think its more than influence though... I bet Jack was playing around with that riff from the song and came up with his own version... I heard a guitar article said he was a fan of Rush.
