Rewire With Pro-tools Le?, Does it work with VST? Options

Hi. I just wanted to make sure of a few things before I buy the Digidesign Mbox.
Will I be able to hook my Microkorg digi/analogue sound module mini keyboard to the audio in on the Mbox for audio recording, and at the same time connect it to a seperate midi interface to use as a midi controller devise with Reason 2.5? I would just want to simultaneously go back and forth between using the microkorg for recording audio then using it as a midi controller without disconnecting and re-connecting wires.

Also, will propellerhead's Rewire enable me to use Reason and Ableton Live with Protools LE? Will it allow me to use other VST programs with Protools LE?
I really want to keep my set up as simple and easy as possible for doing techno based home recording, and production on my ibook 800MhZ(640 mb ram) in the bedroom studio. Eventually I might just add a sampler module or a drum sequencer module(electribe/ akai mpc1000) to the set up, but not nessessarilly.

Hi, get Mbox, you be in heaven I'm a seasoned (25 years) session musician with a hobby/semi-pro studio using protools 001. Do NOT get the 001., it's been discontinued due to PCI limitations on newer macs, (voltage issues) get anything with firewire or USB2 as it will be surely upgradable. I love protools and I've used lots of other software, It's the best. Elegant and intuitive. I also use it with reason and live rewired, it just plain ROCKS. I don't do electronica but I know many who have had great results in this artform with the platform I just mentioned. You will not be able to use vst for proprietary reasons (digidesign loves a closed market) it will never happen...HOWEVER fxpansion is about to release a rtas-vst plug-in wrapper that will allow vst to pipe into protools regardless of what digidesign wants. also, rtas (real time audio suite) plugs are expensive, but many company's are coming out with affordable plugs for PT such as PSP, OHMFORCE and DUY. good luck to you! write great music and have fun!!!
