HI. Is anyone successfully recording and sequencing with an iMac? I have a DVSE with 256 megs of RAM, a Midiport 32, Alesis SR-16 drum machine and a little keyboard controller. I have never been able to get the midi sequencing working. All I want to do is save drum tracks from the SR-16 into Cakewalk to edit them. Of course mixing multiple tracks would be awesome, but one thing at a time. Also when I record live audio, the tracks will only play back once and then they are greyed out and don't play back.

Any help or links would be appreciated. The literature on all this gear and software makes it sound so easy. I have been at this occasionally for like two years. It's the one thing I wish my mac could do. It is supposed to work. Aaargh!

could this be the dreaded 'extensions conflict' ?
keep the system 'lean & mean'.
extensions overload (free demo), prefs overload (ditto) should sort that out wink.gif
which system version are you using ?
good luck...
