g5 needs a sound card to record analogic audio or for use vst instrouments ?

logic audio or cubase sx? what is better ?

actually on my laptop i use cubase sx and i can add internal effects in the same time i'm recording sounds so i can ear how it sounds while i'm playing some one told me logic can't do this you can add effects only after
having recorded the trak is that true?

As for soundcards, you could consider an external firewire interface like, MOTU-828 MK-II or Diigidesigns Digi-002 or Presonus Firestation, if your budget permits.
