If one were to start from scratch with the intent of creating a simple music composing and performance set-up, and money was not the main criterion, what hardware(ie computer, keyboard, etc.) and software would you currently buy.

Actually, I'm interested in doing both orchestral and techno. What set-up(s) would you suggest?
