I've been using ConcertWare for about twelve years on a Mac IIci, which has finally reached its 'use before' date. Now I have a spiffy new G4 which runs ConcertWare lightning fast, but I cannot get ConcertWare to interface with my Casio MIDI keyboard. I've tried:

* Keyspan serial adapter and serial MIDI box--no joy, after spending an hour on
the phone with Keyspan tech. support (they were baffled)

* OMS with MidiSport 2x2 USB connection--no way to get this to work with the
Apple MIDI Manager, as far as I can tell

Any ideas? Is there some secret I don't know?

Still poking about on this one.
As yet i cant make it work on the works G4, but i havent had a lot of time to fiddle , as far as i can tell, multiple midi ports arent poular with it.
Had it working in System 8.0 years ago , but only with single midi port.
I'm sure it got horribly confused by my (then) new MOTU midi express. Which is why i Bought Logic then (god i think it was abotu V3.5? or older!)
I suspect that having any more than 1 addressable I/o stream screws concertwares ancient little mind to oblivion.
I still have an old perfomer 5300 kicking about as well as the upgraded beige machines at home.
I'll play some more in the near future., got a little time off thanks to Glandular fever, but am too d*amn tired to do much right now.
Would rather be at work, but never mind.
I think i'd be doing you a favour to declare it dead , and suggest you purchase Logic or Cubase, neither of which need be that hard to learn if you take it one step at a time.
I prefer Logic, and it was my first step from concertware, so i guess it'd be a good start for you.
You Dont have to Go for platinum, to replicate all concert ware was capable of, i only bought Micrologic to start with, and upgraded very quickly to silver.
Now using Platinum, but thats because i do a hell of a lot of Audio with midi these days.
But nonetheless, i'll keep poking about, i like playing with 'dead' animals!

best regards
max
