I just purchased a MAC G4 Dual 450/640mb, ect. I also have a pc with a SHITLOAD of PLUGINS.
For Example, Native Waves GOld Bundle, Time Bandit, Orange Vocoder, Tc Electronics Plug-ins, Bitheadz Pharazer, Native Pro52 model synth, Tons of VST/ DirectX plugins, Waldorf Attack, Steinberg Model E, Alboretu-Hyperism, Steinberg Mastering edition, Waldorf PPG Wave V2, Prosoniq Time Factory, Ect. I would never have enough room to list them all. I am using Cubase VST 5 for sequencer. I know I will probably have to buy the Mac version for cubase for it to run on the mac, because I don't think the pc version will run on the mac. My question is if I buy the Mac version of Cubase could I use all of these plug-ins with the mac version of cubase just by transferring the plug-ins from my pc to my mac. Or is there a seperate version(mac and pc) for these plug-ins. I though that plug-ins can be used on either platform as long as the sequencer that is using them is for that specific platform. If you can help with this question in any way I would greatly appreciate it. I would hate to have to buy all new mac versions of these plug-ins(over $5,000). |

I own Cubase and DP3, I'm just learning DP.
Cubase is good, Steinberg seems to be more interested in adding new technology, instead of fixing old bugs. The ReCycle, Cubase combination is powerful. I used it fix several Pro tools sessions. Midi sequencing is good, but I love the sequencing in the now FREEWARE Studio Vision Pro. Hopefully someone will take it out Gibson guitars hands. But the next version of DP will add .rex support. I suggest that you lurk on the users groups, none of the software is perfect, but you can get good results from any of them. For FREE Mac VSTs check out the VST Hangar http://iobsolete.ca/thehangar/ For info on all VSTs http://www.kvr-vst.com/index.php The MDA stuff is great.
