Hiya!!
Okay, first this,... I am a complete dummy in world of digital music recording. I have bought a new Imac and I want to make simple songs. I am looking for cheap (or free) multitrack recording software. Can anyone advice me ?? I just want to make simple songs with my guitar and my lovely voice But I would like to record it not at the same time and not on the same track. Which program will be the best for me. I heard of Logic etc. but I think it is a little bit to expensive for my first experiments as singer/songwriter. Well hope to hear soon!! Oskar ps. are there illegal copies going round of Logic or Cubase? Or is that not done in this scene?? |

Well all depends if your iMac is still one of the machines still able to boot under OS9 (the real one not the classic emulation) if it's the case just download Pro Tools Free and it will be great for you
If you can only run on OSX then try Audacity it's a shareware and you will find the link in the "soft" section of Mac Music. The software is really good. Then of course you need an audio interface don't go to cheap one's (like iMic) cause you will get more problems than needed (Latency, loss of quality etc...). For the interface look around on the several threads speaking about differents choices. QUOTE . are there illegal copies going round of Logic or Cubase? Or is that not done in this scene?? Please don't talk around here of thoses cracks programms They are plenty shareware so respect the work of the programmers! pesji Hope it was helpful -------------------- |
