Just curious if anybody here does pro logic mixing, and what tools in OS X there are. So far I've been able to use MDA RoundPan and VBox (Peak) for just about everything, but some audio positioning and manual panner would be nice....

Encoding is another story, IMHE. No matter what, you will need a license from dolby or dts to just encode your material with their proprietary format ($$$), and you'd better be carefull with this phase, as it's VERY controlled by laboratories and respective trademarks...

Actually the Dolby logo/trademark is not required (for Dolby Surround / Pro Logic).. Technicaly, any sterio image will take advantage of Dolby Surround at some level due to the deisgn of the decoder.

And as far as getting a licence to use the Dolby symbol, It's free... you do have to apply for it and go through all the offical paperwork, but it's nothing compared to most licencing nightmares. The people are quite friendly and helpfull as well.

I'm about to start production for a worship CD (for a local church in the area) which will be designed for Pro Logic, and will have the "Dolby Surround" logo / text on the front.... anybody who would like to find out more about it once it's finished, feel free to stop by http://www.mp3.com/saul2paul , go to the "contact" link and let me know.
