Hello guys
To make the long story short - I have basicaly 4 controllers
1) M-audio project mix ( using as main mixer)
2) MPD 24 Pad controller ( for drum sampler)
3) M-audio 61keystation - (basically simple keyboard controller)
4) Novation 49Sl Compact - (also keyboard with some extra buttoms)
Anyways when all those controllers are activated in
logic/preferences/control surface they work as one controller.
For example - both keyboards controlling same thing - depending on which keyboard
I play.
What I’m trying to find out if I can assign one keyboard to VST on one track ,second keyboard to another VST on another track and possibly pad controller to third drum track - so for example 3. people can independently play 3. different tracks with their VST-s.
With live instruments it’s a piece of cake - but in this case since all 3. named controllers have USB so I’m not sure how to do it?
I did my research - went through all Logics Enviroment stuff, Even Logic’s 8 Controll surface guide but nothing has really helped me .

If anybody has got experience with this chalenge I would really appreciate your feedback.
Thanks for your time.
Milan

Deaconsblue,

Do you have any personal/positive experience with the vst-au Wrapper. When I last tried it out ; around the time Mac Daddy is talking about, I found the latency to be pretty awful, something to do with the audio or midi data having to be 'parsed' twice I imagine (emulation is always a bit sticky). Havent given it a try since the new versions or after the event of me getting my G5 and a quality audio interface back then. If thats been sorted out (or the incresed power of computers and interfaces has made that a non-issue), then I might just have to give it another try because as you said $80 is great value to regain use of an investment made years ago.

Mac Daddy,

What were you doing backstage at an Aero Smith Concert?... throwing your panties at them and screaming? unsure.gif hehe

Not sure what all those VSTs are doing hidden in there perhaps some audio/video editing apps havent migrated over to AU yet? I do remember that a couple of years ago I was receiving installers that wouldn't allow me to install just the Audio Unit and that if I tried to de-select the VST in the installer that the AU option would become greyed out. That; and some reading in SOS or something similar led me to believe/assume what I said before about the VST engine still being used to power some plugs while companies were still in the transition to going fully AU.
